Wilson H Merkel

Wilson H. Merkel, 68, of 55 Rhoades Road, Lenhartsville, PA (Greenwich Township), died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in his home. He was married to Evelyn C. (Hoffman) Merkel. They were married on June 7, 1956.

Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, PA, he was a son of the late William H. and the late Edna M. (Adam) Merkel. He was a carpenter/foreman at Nyleve Bridge Corporation, Emmaus, for 40 years retiring in 1998. He was a US Army veteran (peacetime). He was a member of the New Jerusalem Zion UCC Church, Lenhartsville.

He is survived by Wife; Sons, Ronald L. Merkel, Lenhartsville, Kyle W. Merkel, Lenhartsville, Terry L. Merkel, Lenhartsville, Ken W. Merkel, Lenhartsville; 8 Grandchildren, 1 Step Granddaughter.

Funeral services are Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 12:30 PM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 to 12:30 PM.

The family requests contributions to Hospice St. John, 421 Chew Street, Seton Hall, Fourth Floor, Allentown, 18102. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
