Mr. William "Bill" S. Scholl

December 20, 1962 — August 4, 2024

William S. “Bill” Scholl, 61, of Kutztown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. He was the loving husband of Lori M. (Gottshall) Scholl since April 14, 1990. In April, they celebrated 34 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Reading, PA, and raised in Kutztown, Bill was a son of Evelyn E. (Stauffer) Scholl, formerly of Kutztown, and the late William D. Scholl, who died in January, 2021. Bill was a 1981 graduate of Kutztown Area High School, and later, The Antonelli School of Art and Photography, Bryn Mawr, PA. Bill was an award-winning photographer and was the owner of Scholl's Photography, Kutztown, spending many years capturing life's precious moments through his lens. Some of his best photos won national awards and one was even displayed at Epcot.

Bill was an avid golfer and member of the Thursday evening league at Rich Maiden Golf Course, Fleetwood, for many years. His golf friends would joke that they couldn’t beat him even with a handicap. He also enjoyed playing cards, going for long car rides and music of all genres. Bill could often be found with his headphones on, listening to his favorite music, taking him back to a different time. Above all, Bill loved spending time with his family. He shared many days on the patio enjoying his grandchildren and making memories. Though he faced many health obstacles throughout his life, he was braver than most and took it in stride. His memory stayed sharp as ever until the very end, and he could remember the details of his younger days like it was yesterday. He loved hanging out with old friends and sharing stories from the past. He touched the lives of many, and his infectious smile and humor will be missed greatly. His memory will remain in their hearts forever.

Along with his wife of 34 years, Lori, and his mother Evelyn, Bill is survived by his two children, Dakota L. Seidel (Scholl), wife of Joel P. Seidel, and Maxwell W. Scholl, all of Kutztown; two grandsons, Jack and Beau; and sister, Donna L. Scholl-Artwohl, wife of Todd M. Artwohl, Lower Macungie Township. He is predeceased by his father and brother, David A. Scholl in March 2020.
