Mr. William J. Pummer

William J. "Pappy" Pummer, Sr., 89, of Topton, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 19, 2024, in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, Allentown. He was the widower of Claire Mae "Nana" (Newcomer) Pummer, who passed away on November 16, 2016 and whom he married on November 20, 1954.

Born in Allentown, William was a son of the late Frank and Mary (Deutsch) Pummer. He retired from Victaulic, Alburtis, and was a former member of Morningstar Fellowship Church, Bechtelsville, Pappy enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.

William is survived by his four children, William J., Jr., husband of Susan G. (Duld) Pummer, Alburtis, Terry L., husband of Julie T. (Shields) Pummer, Topton, Debra L. (Pummer), wife of Dale A. Albright, Mahanoy City, and Timothy S., husband of Lisa V. (LaSerre) Pummer, Macungie; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, Krista, Nichole, Jared, Jakob, Ian and Ben; and seven great-grandchildren, Devon, Lilliana, Cassidy, Mackenzie, Caiden, Sophia and Bailey; and along with his wife and parents, was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor William's life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Pastor Steve DeFrain officiating. Burial will follow in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
