William H. Fegely, 97, of Mertztown, died peacefully, Sunday, February 9, 2025, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the widower of Laila R. (Heffner) Fegely, who died October 27, 2010. They were married 65 years at the time of Laila's passing. Born in Longswamp Township, Bill was a son of the late James L. and Marie S. (Fegely) Fegely. He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Bill honorably and faithfully served our country as a Sergeant of the United States Army during the Korean War.

After coming home from the war, Bill worked for both Caloric Corp and Wilson Rohrbach Trucking before settling in at Mack Trucks. Bill earned certifications in mechanics, electrical and welding. It was this skill set and talents that led him to the Customer Adaption Center (CAC) where he specialized in modifying stock trucks to customer specifications. Bill spent over 35 years with Mack between the Allentown and Macungie plants. Having been in farming his entire life, he continued to work at Savidge Farms throughout his retirement years as recent as a few weeks prior to his death.

Bill is survived by his only sister, Anna (Fegely) Meck of Easton and many nieces and nephews. Bill's easy going personality, fierce independence, meticulous nature, strong work ethic and endless energy leaves all of us who knew and loved him, friend and family, neighbor and community alike, missing him dearly. In addition to his wife, Laila, and parents, Bill was predeceased by brothers: Lee R. Fegely; Wayne D. Fegely; and Ralph J. Fegely.
