Mr. William F. Gehman

William F. "Bill" Gehman, 75, of Topton, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022 in Lehigh Valley Inpatient Hospice, Allentown. He was the husband of Diana R. (Rinear) Gehman, whom he married on June 6, 2015. His first wife, Linda A. (Spangler) Gehman, died on December 16, 2003.

Born in Allentown, Bill was a son of the late Eugene F. and Arlene K. (Leiby) Gehman and was a 1965 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. Bill honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bill was employed by The Borough of Topton for over 20 years, working as the Road Supervisor and Sewer Plant Manager. He also worked at Mack Trucks, Inc., Macungie, the US Postal Service as a Postal Substitute, and as a plumber's assistant in his younger years.

Bill loved Topton and served on the Topton Borough Council for several years. He was also a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, where he was a former Commander and presently a member of their Honor Guard. He was a member of Zion's Union Church of Maxatawny, and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, tinkering around and taking care of his home. Above all, Bill loved his grandchildren and was a proud supporter of their activities.

Along with his wife, Diana, Bill is survived by his daughter, Kimberly A. (Gehman), wife of Joseph A. Smith, Mohrsville; two grandchildren, Kylie A. and Aidan J. Smith, Mohrsville; and many other extended cousins and family members.

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Bill's life will be held on Monday, October 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Stephen Hollinger officiating. Burial, with military honors provided by his fellow comrades at Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, will follow in Topton Union Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
