William D. Serfass

William Daniel Serfass, 89, of Columbia, SC, formerly Kutztown, PA, went home in the arms of Jesus to meet the Father on July 26, 2024, surrounded by family members. He was born in Kutztown, PA on March 9, 1935, to Russell and Mabel (Adam) Serfass.

We cherish the memories of a man who loved God and his family, spending time playing baseball with them,  working on cars and fixing & building things. He was fun-loving and enjoyed people.  He was a hard working man who instilled those values to his children. He was very fond of the people he worked with driving truck for Alpo and BFI, later in life while stocking shelves at Weis Market and delivering parts for Napa Auto.  He was the president of the cemetary board for Zion Moselem Church, Kutztown, PA.  He loved his congregation and bible study group at Fleetwood Bible Church, Fleetwood, PA, and also the congregation and Golden Eagles at New Life Community Church, Irmo, SC.  He will be remembered as always making people laugh and having a caring heart. He will deeply be missed.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years,  Loretta I. (Miller) Serfass, his 4 children David (Barb) Serfass, Diane Serfass,  Mike (Donna) Serfass and Karen (Marc) Plaskie. His granddaughter Lisa (Brandon) Bratlie, and 4 great grand children, Steven, Madison, Brandon, Jr. and Samantha.

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Bill's life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, visitation at 10am and service at 11am at Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich St, Kutztown, PA, with The Reverend Nathanael Naugle, officiating.  Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
