William C. Eschbach

William C. "Bill" Eschbach, 65, of Tilden Township, died Friday, January 27, 2023, in Tower Health - Reading Hospital, where he was a patient two days.  He was the loving husband of Sharon L. (Williams) Eschbach.  They were married December 27, 1975.  Born in Allentown, William was a son of the late Leslie P., Sr., and Dorothy M. (Beers) Eschbach.  Bill was a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ, Kutztown.

Bill was employed as a battery breaker for over 35 years, at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, until his retirement.

Bill was a dedicated and active volunteer fire fighter with Hereford Township, Kutztown, and Deer Lake & West Brunswick Fire Companies throughout his life.  He was also involved with Schuylkill County Fire Police, where he served as Captain of the Deer Lake & West Brunswick Fire Company Fire Police.  William also served ten years as a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Forest Fire Warden, in the West Brunswick Township area.

Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, golfing, small engine repair and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 47 years, Sharon, Bill is survived by two children:  Jane M. (Eschbach) Rice, Kutztown; and Paul E., husband of Nancy (Marques) Eschbach, Friedensburg, Schuylkill County.  Other survivors include:  a sister, Tammy L. Eschbach, companion of Elvin Martin, Fleetwood; grandchildren: Anthony W., and Dominick P. Rice; Marcus, Brooke, and Brandon Eschbach.  In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by brothers: John Eschbach and Leslie Eschbach, Jr.

A Funeral service to honor and celebrate Bill's life will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with The Reverend Kim L. Adamson, officiating.  Interment in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.  Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made in Bill's memory to Deer Lake & West Brunswick Fire Department, 1 Ash Road, Orwigsburg, PA  17961.
