William C. DeLong, age 47, of 363 Lyons Road, Lyons, Maxatawny Township PA, died Saturday, February 3, 2001 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading PA. He was the Husband of Carol A. (Kerchner) DeLong. The couple celebrated their 27th Wedding Anniversary this past April.
Born in Topton PA, he was the Son of Jeanette F. (Huyette) DeLong of Mertztown PA and the late Charles E. DeLong. He worked in the Mold Repair Shop at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Deka Battery, Lyon Station PA for 13 years, last working Thursday. Prior to that he worked as a welder/machinist at the Former Alburtis Machine Company, now Amity Fabrication Company, Alburtis for 6 years. Before that he worked in the Water Treatment plant as a Water Quality Technician for the Caloric Corporation at its former Topton Plant for 5 years. He first worked at the former K.R.G. Company, Mertztown as a welder for 2 years. He was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers PA. He was a member of Lyons Fire Company, Topton Fish and Game Association, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Kutztown PA.
He is survived by his Wife and Mother; Son, Billy Joe DeLong of Kutztown PA; Daughter, Lori Ann DeLong of Kutztown PA; Sisters, Susan L. (DeLong), wife of Willard N. Brensinger, Jr. of Topton PA, Lisa M. (DeLong), wife of Randy L. Oswald of Mertztown PA and Jane M. DeLong of Mertztown PA; Brother, Michael E. DeLong of Dornsife PA and 1 Granddaughter.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2001, at 1:00 PM from the Ludwick Funeral Homes, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown PA. Interment in Lyons Cemetery, Lyons PA. Friends may call Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Funeral Home.
