William A Moyer

William A. Moyer, 81, of Old Route 22, Kutztown, PA died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus, where he had been a patient since March 12 ^th . He was the husband of Althea C. (DeLong) Moyer. They were married on February 28, 1948.

Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, PA he was a son of the late Calvin F. and Sallie (Moyer) Moyer. He was a member of the UCC congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny, where he was a past deacon, elder, and the Sunday School secretary. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was a tow motor operator at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, from 1949 until the late 1960’s; and, a tool grinder at Mack Trucks, Allentown, from the late 1960’s until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Kutztown Fire Company.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Diane S. (Moyer) wife of David W. Herber and Son, Timothy J. husband of Dawn H. (Assed) Moyer, both of Kutztown; Sisters, Clara (Moyer) wife of John Snyder, Allentown, Leona (Moyer) widow of Oscar Leiby, Kutztown; Brothers, Robert husband of Pearl (Gruber) Moyer, Rockledge, FL, Ray husband of Judy (Gilbert) Moyer, Fogelsville; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by a Sister, Lillian (Moyer) Leiby and a Brother, Carl Moyer.

Funeral Services are Monday, April 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM in Zion’s Union Church, Route 222, Maxatawny. Interment with Military Honors in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Maxatawny. Friends may call Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the church.
