Willard A. Varner

Willard A. Varner, 73, of Kutztown, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. (Elm) Varner, with whom he shared 51 years of marriage since August 16, 1975.

Born in Sayre, PA, Will was the son of the late Willard J. and Elda C. (Zellner) Varner. He graduated from Sayre Area High School in 1971 and Lehigh Carbon Community College in 1973.

Will began his career as a draftsman at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. He later joined his wife, Pat, in purchasing and operating a Wild Birds Unlimited franchise in Allentown, PA, for 26 years before retiring.

He found great happiness in the outdoors, enjoying his yard, landscaping, birdwatching, and the beauty of nature. Will also had a deep love for his basset hounds, who brought him constant companionship and joy.

Will will be remembered for his gentle spirit, warm heart, and kindness. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather. His steady presence and love for his family and beloved dogs will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, Pat, Will is survived by his daughter, Amy A. (Varner) Bray, of Kutztown; and his four grandchildren, Emily F. Bray, Will D. Bray, Noah R. Bray, and Sean A. Bray. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda (Varner) Nagle.

Services will be held privately by his family.
