Willard C Conrad

Willard C. Conrad, 80, of Kohler Road, Kutztown, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown, where he had been a patient since June 13 ^th . He was the husband of the late Barbara A. (Mertz) Conrad who died on January 23, 1998.

Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Paul and Clara (Baer) Conrad. He was a member of Christ (DeLong) United Church of Christ, Bowers. He was a 1945 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. He was a 37 year veteran of the PA Army National Guard with service during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. His memberships included the Bowers Lions Club, Kutztown Rod and Gun Club, Kutztown F.O.E. Aerie #839 and the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton. He was a tool and die maker at the Caloric Corporation, formerly of Topton, for 40 years retiring in 1990.

He is survived by Daughter, Gretchen A. (Conrad) Diehl; Sister, Virginia C. (Conrad) wife of Gerald P. Kern; Brother, John P. husband of Marion (Ziegler) Conrad, all of Kutztown; Grandchildren, Nicholas A. Diehl and Victoria L. Diehl.

Funeral Services are Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with Military Honors provided by the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton, in Becker’s St. Peter’s Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
