Welton E. Zentner, 86, of North Haas Street, Topton, died Saturday, May 14, 2005, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., Lehigh County, near Allentown. He was married to Beatrice M. (Hieter) Zentner, they were married August 24, 1946.
Born in Emmaus, Lehigh County, PA, he was the son of the late Clinton F. and the late Ella V. (Kline) Zentner. He was employed for over 11 years at the former Geo. Y. Brubaker, Inc., Kutztown retiring in 1982 as service manager. Prior to that he worked as a plumber from 1952 to 1972 at the former Frey’s Plumbing, Topton; and from 1938 - 1942 and 1945 - 1952 at the former Pennypacker Foundry, Emmaus, Lehigh County. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He served as a Topton Borough Councilman for 16 years during the 1940’s and 1950’s. He was a member of Old Time Minstrels in the area and also a member of the Brandywine Booster Minstrels, Topton, from 1976 to 1994. He was a member of the Topton Lions Club, Topton. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton.
He is survived by Wife, Daughter, JoAnne L. (Zentner) wife of Robert E. Sunday, Bowers (Maxatawny Twp.); 4 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Friday, May 20, 2005 at 2:00 PM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Avenue & East Smith Street, Topton with the Reverend Robert G. Argot, Jr., officiating. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Friends may call Friday, 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM in the church.
Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Ave., & E. Smith St., Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
