Wayne C Wessner

Wayne C. Wessner, 90, of Kutztown, died Friday, February 20, 2015 in his residence. He was the longtime companion of Gloria A. (Smith) Hayes, with whom he resided, and the widower of Helen C. (Bartholomew) Wessner, who died March 16, 2006 .

Born in Maxatawny Township , he was the son of the late William H. and Cora C. (Mertz) Wessner. Mr. Wessner was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, Richmond Township. He, along with his late wife, Helen, owned and operated Wayne C. Wessner Grain Mill, Kutztown for 45 years, before their retirement in 2005. Mr. Wessner was a lifetime member of Huguenot Lodge No. 377 F. & A.M., Kutztown; a contributing life member of Rajah Shrine, Reading; a member of Knights Templar #152, Reading; and a member of Supreme Forest, Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Wayne will be dearly missed by his family and friends .

He is survived by Companion, Gloria; Sister, Mildred E. L. (Wessner), wife of Harold Gehringer, Kutztown; and several nieces and nephews . He was predeceased a brother, Alfred L. "Buddy" Wessner in 2003.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:30 AM from Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown (Richmond Township), with Diaconal Minister Linda S. Zawaski, Reverend Jeremiah A. Sassaman, and Reverend Mary Ann Hamm officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown. A Masonic service will begin at 10:15 AM Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 AM in the church .
