Warren Herbert Ziegler

Warren Herbert Ziegler, 85, of Kutztown, died on Monday, December 12, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the widower of Fern B. (Knabb) Ziegler, who died on February 17, 1990. They were married 38 years prior to Fern's passing.

Born in Maxatawny Township, Warren was a son of the late Fred A. and Katie F. (Moll) Ziegler. He was a member of the Reformed Congregation of Ziegels Union Church, Breinigsville, and was a 1949 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Warren was a general contractor who began his career working for his father, Frederick. He took over his father's business, upon his retirement, and owned Warren Ziegler General Contracting from 1967 until his retirement in 2005. He enjoyed snowmobiling, cooking, and baking his famous cookies later in his life. He was also a Philadelphia Phillies fan and a woodworker, who could be found tinkering around his home. Above all, Warren was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who he greatly adored.

He is survived by his 6 Children, Denise L. (Ziegler), wife of Barry W. Sliwinski, Dover, FL, Frederick A., husband of Rebecca A. (Rohrbach) Ziegler, Kutztown, Karen A. (Ziegler), wife of Lawrence G. Kaskie, Paxinos, Northumberland Co., Tina L. (Ziegler), widow of Mark Mitchell, Oley, Lon W., husband of Sally A. (Grabert) Ziegler, Cobleskill, NY, and Beth A. (Ziegler) Slater, fiancé of Michael Wernke, Cincinnati, OH; a Sister, Helen M. (Ziegler) Warmkessel, Kutztown; 15 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. He was predeceased by his Wife; Parents; a Sister, Kathryn M. (Ziegler) Kershner; and a Brother, Harold F. Ziegler.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, PA, with Reverend Jeffrey P. Kistler officiating. Interment will follow in Ziegels Church Union Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made in Warren's memory to Ziegels Union Church Memorial Fund, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, PA 18031. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
