Warren H Warmkessel

November 14, 1920 — July 27, 2006

Warren H. Warmkessel, 85, formerly of Krumsville Road, Lenhartsville, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, in Jenny’s Country Manor, New Tripoli, where he had been a resident since September 11, 2004. He was the husband of Miriam A. (Haas) Warmkessel. They were married on March 31, 1945.

Born in Lower Macungie Township, Lehigh County, he was the son of the late Levi J. and Carrie (Scheirer) Warmkessel. He was a laborer at East Penn Manufacturing, Lyon Station, for 23 years retiring in 1986; prior to that he was a farmer in Maxatawny Township from 1952 to 1963 and a laborer at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 5 years. He was treasurer of the Albany Township Senior Citizens for several years and captain of the Maxatawny Dart Ball Team for 2 years. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny, where he served for eight years as a church council member.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Linda L. (Warmkessel) wife of Philip G. Menges, York Springs, Adams County, PA; Sons, Richard P. husband of Jane A. (Kunkel) Warmkessel and Randy L. husband of Karen M. (Krick) Warmkessel, both of Mertztown; Sister, Alice C. (Warmkessel) wife of Herman Dietrich, Breinigsville; Grandchildren, Dr. Jeffrey R. husband of Gilliam V. (Dersch) Warmkessel, Columbus, OH, Korie J. wife of Stephen P. Talian, Harrisburg, Sheila L. companion of Janice L. Attig, Abbottstown, Adams County, Pamela J. wife of Samuel L. Fisher, Coatesville, Chester County, Jeremiah R. Jones companion of Joyce S. Tietsworth, Dillsburg, York County, Tara M. Warmkessel and Alex M. Warmkessel, both of Longswamp Township; 5 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Monday, July 31, 2006 at 10:30 AM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Maxatawny. Friends may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.

The family requests contributions to Zion’s Union Church Building Fund, PO Box 100, Maxatawny, 19538. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
