W Heinlein Hall

Dr. W. Heinlen Hall, 96, formerly of Kutztown, PA and Bowling Green, OH. died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 in the Henry Health Care Center on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton. He was the widower of Mildred E. (Walker) Hall who died August 2, 1982.

Born in Cairo, WV, he was a son of the late Andrew Brown and Jeanette (Heinlen) Hall. He was a professor of Chemistry at Bowling Green State University, from 1936 until his retirement in 1976. He served as chairman of the chemistry department from 1951 to 1971. He was a 1928 graduate of McComb High School, McComb, OH. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Muskingum College, New Concord, OH in 1932; and his PhD in Chemistry from Ohio State University in 1939. He devoted many summers to direction a National Science Foundation Institute that help high school teachers earn their Masters Degree in Chemistry. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Bowling Green, OH, and a faithful participant in the Reading Monthly Meeting, Religious Society of Friends, Reading, PA.

He is survived by Sons, John Brown Hall, Philadelphia, PA, James Walker husband of Wendy (Braun) Hall, Kutztown. In addition he is survived by three Grandchildren, Sara, Adam, and Ethan and a Great Grandson, Spencer.

Memorial Services to be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
