Mrs. Virginia G. Nolte

April 3, 1941 — December 10, 2022

Virginia G. “Ginny” (Strohmetz) Nolte, 81, of Lenhartsville, passed away on Saturday morning, December 10, 2022 in Lehigh Valley In-Patient Hospice, Allentown. She was the widow of Karl H. Nolte, who died on June 16, 2000, and whom she spent 38 years of marriage with prior to his passing.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Virginia was a daughter of the late Harry and Jessie (Morrison) Strohmetz, and was a graduate of Lansdowne-Aldan High School, Lansdowne. She was a graduate of Kutztown State College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Ginny taught elementary school for three years at the Ridley Area School District prior to her decision to stay home to raise her family. After her children were grown, Ginny decided to return to the classroom and worked for the next twelve years as an elementary teacher in the Hamburg Area School District.

Ginny had a love for children and had a selfless heart. In her retirement, she made baby blankets, hats, and scarves to be sent to children battling childhood cancer. She also was an avid knitter; enjoyed cross-stitch and puzzles.

Virginia is survived by her two children, Karen J. Nolte, Drums, PA, and Karl H. Nolte, III, and his wife, Melissa M. (Melton) Nolte, Lenhartsville, PA; and three grandchildren, Krystal V. Nolte, Nikolette M. Nolte, and Blake K. Nolte; and was predeceased by her brother, Harry E. Strohmetz, Jr., who died in 2017.

A private graveside service to honor and celebrate Ginny’s life will be held at the convenience of the family in Frieden’s Cemetery of Stony Run. There is no public viewing or calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ginny’s memory to Ryan’s Case for Smiles, Attn: Liz, 295 E. Swedesford Rd., #396, Wayne, PA 19087. To learn more about this organization or contribute online, please visit www.caseforsmiles.org.
