Virginia B Ebersole

Virginia B. “Ginny” (Baer) Ebersole, 88, a resident of The Buehrle Center, Topton, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 in her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Clifford G. Ebersole, who died on April 7, 2010.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Irvin R. and Laura A. (Griffith) Baer. Mrs. Ebersole was a 1946 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. She was employed as a cashier for 25 years at Boscov's North, Reading, until her retirement in 1994. Having been an orphan at The Topton Orphan's Home, Ginny dedicated much of her time to The Lutheran Home at Topton, which was very near and dear to her heart. She was an active member of the campuses' church, Grace Lutheran Church, where she presently served as the President of the church council since 1995. She also spearheaded the Lutheran Home at Topton Archives, which she took care of for many years, and was a former Vice President of the Orphans Alumni Association. Ginny was also involved with several other activities and could usually be seen volunteering her time somewhere on the campus.

He is survived by a Daughter, Wendy E. (Ebersole) Rohm, widow of Jeffrey W. Rohm, Greeneville, TN; Son, Ronald L. Ebersole, husband of Anna Tsang, Boca Raton, FL; and one Grandson, Ens. Eric M. Rohm, U.S. Navy, Pensacola, FL. Virginia was predeceased by her Husband; Parents; a Son, Robert B. Ebersole on August 8, 2011; and a Brother, William Baer in 1975.

A memorial service to celebrate Virginia’s life will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Grace Lutheran Church, located on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, with Reverend Carl R. Schmoyer and Reverend Bob Brenneman officiating. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the church. Burial will take place on Thursday morning at 10:30 AM in Good Shepherd Cemetery, 160 Tuckerton Road, Reading (Tuckerton).

The family requests contributions be made in Virginia’s memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562 or The Lutheran Home at Topton Endowment Fund, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, PA  19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
