Vera B. Brubaker

Vera B. (Reiff) Brubaker, 79, of Kutztown, died peacefully, surrounded by her family in her home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. She was the wife of Walter M. Brubaker, they were married on November 12, 1968. Born in Lancaster, Vera was a daughter of the late Elam M. and Maria H. (Burkholder) Reiff. She was a member of the Groffdale Conference of Mennonites and attended Center Mennonite Church, Kutztown.

Vera was a homemaker, kept busy raising her eleven children, and helping her husband with farm operations.

She is survived by her children: Pauline R. (Brubaker), wife of Kenneth H. Weaver, Penn Yan, NY; Mark R., husband of Lillian B. (Zimmerman) Brubaker, Kutztown; Florence R. (Brubaker), wife of Amos H. Burkholder, Kutztown; Ellen R. (Brubaker), wife of Emory W. Burkholder, Kutztown; Martha R. (Brubaker), wife of Irvin Z. Leid, Little Falls, NY; Stephen R., husband of Elva Z. (Weaver) Brubaker, Oley; Marion R. (Brubaker), wife of Ivan Ray Zimmerman, Hamburg; Norman R., husband of Arlene N. (Burkholder) Brubaker, Plymouth, OH; David R., husband of Lucinda S. (Burkholder) Brubaker, Kutztown; and Susan R. (Brubaker), wife of Cody B. Blair, Laramie, Wyoming. Other survivors include brother, Paul B., husband of Verna W. (Sensenig) Reiff, Leola, Lancaster County; and Edwin B., husband Emma M. (Newswanger) Reiff, Leola; sisters, Mary B. (Reiff), wife of Allen M. Zimmerman, East Earl, Lancaster County; Esther B. (Reiff), wife of Benjamin M. Oberholtzer, Shiloh, OH; and Lizzie B. (Reiff), wife of Aaron Z. Horning, Shiloh, OH. There are 62 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Vera was predeceased by a daughter, Laura R. (Brubaker) Ringler, wife of Jonathan Ringler; grandchildren John Edward Burkholder, Andrew B. Burkholder, Emma B. Burkholder, Sarah W. Brubaker, Samuel W. Brubaker, JoLisa B. Brubaker, Julie B. Brubaker, and Hazel B. Brubaker; a brother, Chester B. Reiff; and sisters Alta B. (Reiff) Rissler, Martha B. (Reiff) Zimmerman, and Edna B. (Reiff) Martin.

Mark R. Brubaker, Stephen R. Brubaker, Norman R. Brubaker, David R. Brubaker, Jacob Z. Brubaker, and Peter B. Burkholder will serve as Pall Bearers.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Center Mennonite Church, 80 Deysher Road, Kutztown, with Bishop Eli W. Burkholder, officiating. Interment in Center Mennonite Church Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Amos Burkholder, 630 Topton Road, Kutztown.
