Timothy M. “Tim” Phillips, 60, of Rockland Township, died suddenly on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He is the loving husband of Stephanie A. (Sutton) Phillips, whom he married on June 8, 1976.
Born in Norristown, Montgomery County, Tim was a son of the late Michael P. and Florence M. (Tustin) Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Bally. Tim was the owner and operator of Tim Phillips Farrier Services, Mertztown. He was an accomplished and well-respected farrier, having mentored many aspiring farriers throughout his career. Timothy was a member of the American Farrier's Association, American Association of Professional Farriers and Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. Tim was a graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, class of 1974. He enjoyed driving his draft horses and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
In addition to his Wife of 40 years, Stephanie, Tim is survived by his three Children, Courtney A. (Phillips), wife of Jeffrey P. Lee, Mertztown, Megan M. (Phillips), wife of Nicholas A. Ramsey, Kutztown, and Nathan M., husband of Lisa K. (Werley) Phillips, Hamburg; 5 Granddaughters, Kaleigh E. Phillips, Olivia K. Ramsey, Jillian M. Lee, Avery K. Phillips and Rachel G. Ramsey. He is also survived by his 2 Sisters, Susan (Phillips), widow of Craig Bailey, Westfield, Tioga County, and Eileen (Phillips), widow of Gregory Geist, Lawrenceville, Tioga County; and a Brother, Michael P., Jr., husband of Velda (Howe) Phillips, Fort Thompson, SD.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 610 Pine Street, Bally, with Reverend Richard C. Brensinger, as celebrant. Burial will follow in Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery, adjoining the church. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, and again on Monday morning from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made in Tim's memory to the Timothy M. Phillips Memorial Fund c/o Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., P.O. Box 292, Kutztown, PA 19530-0292, which will later be used to help fund his granddaughter’s college education. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
