Theodore M. “Ted” Jones, 83, of Mertztown, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Lucille M. (Schwoyer) Jones. They were married March 15, 1958.

Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Chester Jones and Eva (Angstadt) Nester. He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Mr. Jones was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean Conflict. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in battle in North Korea. He was employed as a tow motor operator for over 20 years by the Emmaus Foundry, Emmaus, retiring in 1991. After retirement, he was employed by Luckenbill Auto, Bowers, and Keller Moving and Storage, Emmaus. He also worked as a laborer at Dana Corporation, Reading. Ted was a member of Pike Township Sportsmens Association, Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, and Lyons and Kutztown Fire Companies.

He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Connie S. (Jones) Ream, wife of Ricky A. Keiser, Allentown; Sister-in-Laws, Sallie E. (Schwoyer) Weil, Kutztown, Joanne L. (Schwoyer) Kramer, wife of Daniel J. Pauley, Bowers; Grandchildren, Gregory S. husband of Julieanne (Nohe) Ream, Selene S. Jones, and Claire L. Jones; Great Grandson, Daniel Patrick Ream; Cousin, Ernie Angstadt, New York, NY. There are 14 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by Step Father, Russell Nester; Son, Jeffrey M. Jones, who died October 12, 2008, and Sister, Virginia (Jones) Speck, who died November 22, 2003. He is survived by his granddogs, Autumn and Precious.

Funeral Services are Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. Interment with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton, in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Sunday from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, and Monday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
