Mr. Terry L. Bucks

Terry L. Bucks, 81, of Kutztown, died Thursday, February 9, 2023, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, as the result of complication of diabetes. His son Kip was at his bedside, his son Jeff was waiting to guide him on his heavenly walk. He was the husband of Brenda J. (Moyer) Bucks.  They were married March 29, 1963.  Born in Kutztown, Terry was a son of the late Warren L. and Lulu E. (Miller) Bucks.  Terry was a member of Saint John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown.

Terry was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1959.  Terry received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education English and Reading, from Kutztown State Teachers College, Kutztown, now Kutztown University, in 1966.

Terry was employed as a secondary English and Reading Teacher in the Brandywine Heights Area School District for 35 years until his retirement in 2001.  Concurrently, Terry worked for A. L. Rhoads Store, Kutztown, now Mr. Food, as a Cashier/Clerk for many years.  He then worked for Chas. B. Sokol, Jr., Beer & Soda Distributor, Kutztown, a business he and his family purchased in 1984 and continued to operate as Duffer's Distributing until 2013.

Terry truly loved his family with a passion and his favorite sport, baseball.  His favorite team was the Chicago Whitesox.  Terry proudly dedicated an entire room in his home to his baseball memorabilia collection.

In addition to his wife of nearly 60 years, Brenda, Terry is survived by a son, Kip D., husband of Annabelle (Brice) Bucks, Anderson, SC; He was Poppy to Eli, engaged to Ashley; Abigail, a nursing student at University of Alabama (Birmingham) and Sophia.  In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by a son Jeff T. Bucks, March 20, 2017;  sister, Evelyn E. (Bucks) Fink; and a brother, Donald R. Bucks.  Terry is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  There are several close friends, Allen Grim, Chip Burkhardt, and Smoke DeTurk, who helped Terry get through his recent rehabilitation stays at Willow Brook Nursing & Rehabilitation, Kutztown.  The family is greatful for their care, concern, and visits.

As Terry wished, there will be no public viewing.  Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.  Burial will take place in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown.
