Mr. Steward E. Moyer

Steward E. Moyer II, 79, of Mertztown, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He was the husband of Darlene H. (Lill) Moyer and were married for 58 years.

He was born on September 3, 1943 in Rockland Township, to the late Steward E. and Marie M. (Bauer) Moyer.  Steward worked at Bally Case and Cooler until they closed and then East Penn Manufacturing, retiring in 2008.  In his younger years Steward enjoyed golf, bowling, softball and pinochle.  He also loved Sunday drives and spending time with his family.  He was looking forward to an 80th birthday trip to the casinos in Connecticut.

Along with his wife Darlene, Steward is survived by his daughter, Stacey, wife of Scott Gambler of Mertztown; grandson, Cohen Gambler of Indianapolis, IN; sisters, Barbara A. (Moyer), widow of Edwin Schmoyer, Bechtelsville; Patricia C. (Moyer), wife of Dean Stump; Sharon M. (Moyer), wife of Marvin Danenhower, both of Kutztown; Cynthia F. (Moyer), wife of James Romig, Alburtis; brother, David W., husband of Diana (Kolbicka) Moyer.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth M. (Moyer) Radcliffe and Joan A. (Moyer) Esterly, two brothers, Kenneth D. Moyer, Sr. and Barry L. Moyer and two granddaughters, Brianna and Stormie Gambler.

A private graveside service will be held at Spies Church Cemetery.  There will be a celebration of life on August 12, 2023 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at Lily's Vineyard on Skyline Drive, 110 Skyline Drive, Reading, for family and friends.
