Steven D. Keiser

Steven D. Keiser, 70, of Alburtis, died peacefully, Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, while under hospice care.  He was the loving husband of Diane M. (Sturgeon) Keiser.  They were married November 24, 2000.  Born in Topton, Steve was a son of the late Douglas F. and Leah S. (Showalter) Keiser.  Steve was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church Topton.

Steven was a graduate of Brandywine Heights Area High School, Topton, Class of 1969.  Steve honorably and faithfully served our country as a veteran of the United States Navy with service during Vietnam.

Steven was first employed by Caloric Corporation, Topton; then, The Lutheran Home at Topton; Steve then began a lengthy career for Carl R. Bieber Tourways, Inc., Kutztown, first as a motor coach driver, achieving 1 million accident free miles, then retiring as a dispatcher in 2014.

Steve enjoyed cruising vacations with his wife and family; a kind and selfless man who shared his humor and wit with others. Steve also enjoyed cutting his grass with a cigar.

In addition to his wife of 22 years, Diane, Steven is survived by: a daughter, Marcie (Keiser) Pritchard; stepdaughters: Sharon C. Shewell, Pennsburg; Teresa A. (Shewell), wife of Brian Hitchens, Milton, DE;  Other survivors include siblings: Allen R., widower of PeggyAnn (Fisher) Keiser, Richmond Township; Dena F. (Keiser), widow of Timothy C. Lewis, Topton; Donna L. Keiser, Mertztown.  There are also Diane's siblings: Barbara L. (Sturgeon), wife of Thomas Dorfis, II, Green Lane; Douglas S. Sturgeon, New Columbia; Cynthia P. (Sturgeon), wife of Randall J. Kubich, Fort Worth, TX.  In addition to his parents, Steven was predeceased by a stepson, Richard D. Shewell, III; a sister, Diane C. (Keiser) Muth; and brothers-in-law, Steven E. Sturgeon; and Ronald A. Sturgeon.

There will be a visitation with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, followed by a Graveside Service to Honor and Celebrate Steven's life at 11:00 a.m. in Topton Union Cemetery, 5 Callowhill Street, Topton, with The Reverend Arthur L. Hahn, officiating, concluding with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy and Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion Honor Guard, Topton.

The family requests contributions be considered in Steven's memory to a charity of one's choice.
