Stephen O. C. “Cocky” Wieder, 93, of Topton, died Friday, July 31, 2015 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the widow of Edna E. (Nester) Wieder, who died December 30, 1990.
Born in Emmaus, he was a son of the late Fred H. and Katie E. (Schaup) Wieder. Mr. Wieder was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. He served in The United States Army during World War II where he was a Purple Heart Metal of Honor recipient. Mr. Wieder was employed as an inspector by Mack Trucks, Inc., Macungie for 44 years, retiring in 1984. He was a life member of Disabled Veterans, Chapter #7, Lehigh Valley; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #7088, Emmaus; Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton; and Nest of Owls #1362, Emmaus. Stephen was also a member of Kutztown & Lyons Fire Companies, and Mack Truck Retirees Group.
He is survived by Sister, Shirley A. Wieder, Emmaus; 2 Grandchildren, Penny L. (Oldt) wife of Joe R. Fenstermaker and Lance A. husband of Lisa M. (Ruth) Oldt; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Ryan J. Fenstermaker and A.J. Fenstermaker. In addition to his Wife and Parents, Stephen was predeceased by Siblings, June Lessig, Joyce Wieder, Carlton Wieder, Donald Wieder, Jack Wieder and Kenneth Wieder; a Stepson, Sterling C. A. Oldt; and a Grandson, Lynn S. Oldt.
Graveside services with Military Honors provided by Ray A. Master Post 217 American Legion, Topton, will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Topton Union Cemetery, with Reverend Arthur L. Hahn officiating. There is no public viewing.
The family requests contributions be made in Stephen's memory to Emmaus V.F.W., P.O. Box 764, Emmaus, PA 18049. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
