Stephen B. "Steve" Beck, 78, of Topton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023 in Willow Brook Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Kutztown. He was the loving husband of Maryellen D. "Pixie" (Moyer) Beck, whom he married on June 26, 1965.

Born in Reading, Steve was a son of the late Kermit B. and Letrucia (Reggiunto) Beck, and was a 1962 graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Steve honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Air Force during the commencement of the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge from his service, Steve was employed by Metropolitan Edison Co. until his retirement in 2008. During his 43 years with Met-Ed, Steve worked as a Lineman and Lead Lineman at the Topton and Hamburg substations as well as Three Mile Island after their historic meltdown.

Steve was ingrained in the Topton community. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Topton, where he served on the Property Committee, James Men's Ministry, and volunteered with Wednesday Night Community Meals among many other events held at Trinity. Steve also served as a Councilman and Vice President for the Borough of Topton for many years, was a member of the Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton, and was a former President of the Brandywine Heights High School Band Boosters.

Steve was an avid fisherman and woodworker. He enjoyed time spent on his boat and trips to the beach and ocean. He was the community Mr. Fix-it and would always be willing to help anyone in need. Above all, Steve enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons and great-granddaughter.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, Pixie, Steve is survived by his two children, Christopher S. Beck and Karen L. (Beck), wife of Kevin S. Long, Coopersburg; two grandsons, Zachary S., husband of Kaitlin S. (Meck) Long, Chestertown, NY, and Matthew N. Long, Macungie; and great-granddaughter, Brooklyn A. Long. He is also survived by Pixie's siblings, Sandra J. (Moyer), wife of Gerald W. Meck, Mertztown and William F., husband of Jean B. (Goll) Moyer, Topton, and their families; and was predeceased by a sister, Patricia A. Chestnut.
