Stanley D Meck

Stanley D. Meck, 98, formerly of Topton, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 in the Henry Health Care Center of The Lutheran Home at Topton where he was a resident since March, 2008. He was the widower of Marietta M (Romig) Meck who died May 11, 1982.

Born in Fullerton, Lehigh Co., he was a son of the late Daniel K. and Sallie R. (Shoemaker) Meck. He was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mertztown where he was a former council member, sexton and member of the Lutheran Men’s group. He was employed as a supervisor in the Assembly Department at Caloric Corporation, at its former Topton plant.

He is survived by Daughter, Janice E. (Meck) wife of Robert N. Hartranft, Kutztown; Son, Emory S. husband of Anna Mae (Stauffer) Meck, Mertztown. Other survivors include Sisters, Sally A. (Meck) wife of George Schofer, Topton and Shirley J. (Meck) wife of Russell Guldin; and Brothers, Nevin W. Meck, Alburtis and Franklin R. husband of Pearl (Kauffman) Meck, Alburtis. In addition, there are Grandchildren, Kristine M. (Meck) widow of Allen W. Danner, Kutztown, Julie A. (Meck) wife of Neal M. Hobert, Mertztown, Dru D. husband of Liz (Blakeney) Hartranft, San Diego, CA and Rebecca S. Hartranft companion of Corwin L. Smith, Brooklyn, NY; and Great Grandchildren, Bryan A. Danner, Shane A. Hobert, Kasey T. Hobert and Ruby M. Smith. He was predeceased by Sisters, Helen C. (Meck) Ferry, Hilda M. (Meck) Reifinger, Catherine H. (Meck) Haas, Lillian E. (Meck) Jennings Fallstick, Mabel S. (Meck) Romig, and Brothers, Earl P. Meck, Roy W. Meck and Lester M. Meck.

Funeral Services are Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 10:30 AM from Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of the church, 19539. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
