Sonya E. Miller

Sonya E. (Oswald) Miller, 82, of Alburtis, died peacefully, Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the widow of Neil R. Miller, who died February 4, 2007. Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, Sonya is a daughter of the late Lloyd H. and Elsie M. (Bauer) Oswald. She was a member of Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, Alburtis.

Sonya was employed most recently in the injection molding department of East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, until her retirement in 2004. Prior, she worked as a line operator for Pillsbury, at its former East Greenville location, and first worked as an assembler for Caloric Corporation, at its former Topton plant.

Sonya enjoyed BINGO, gardening, and taking care of her property. She was an accomplished trap shooter, and was inducted in the Pennsylvania Trap Shooting Hall of Fame for her accomplishments in 1994. She and her late husband Neil spent countless hours at the Alburtis Rod & Gun Club practicing her sport over the years. Most important to Sonya was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her four-legged feline companions over the years.

Sonya is survived by her children, Lisa J. (Miller), wife of Shane L. Follweiler, Allentown; and Randy L., husband of Vicki M, (Gerlach) Miller, Barto. Other survivors include a sister, Ruby (Oswald), widow of Ronnie Oels, Alburtis; and brothers, Lloyd B. Oswald, Alburtis; and William Oswald, Alburtis. There are three grandchildren: Dustin M., husband of Eliza (Catino) Miller; Brittany L. (Miller), wife of Greg Dysinger; and Matthew J. Miller; and three great grandchildren: Jackson Dysinger; Julia Dysinger; and Eroh Miller. Also surviving is her beloved cat, Louie. In addition to her parents and husband, Neil, Sonya was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Oswald, and Jean Oswald; and brothers, Robert Oswald, Larry Oswald, and Roy Oswald.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Sonya's life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with The Reverend Jane M. Kropa, officiating. Interment in Lehigh Zion Cemetery, Alburtis. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Friday, from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
