Shirley L Landis

Shirley L. Landis, 83, of Topton, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in the residence of her daughter, Deborah, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of Eugene W. Landis, who died September 19, 2000.

Born in Topton, she was a daughter of the late Wallace and Cora Ella (Spotts) Barto. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. Mrs. Landis was a graduate of Emmaus High School and the Allentown General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse at the Lutheran Home at Topton for over 30 years until her retirement. Mrs. Landis was an avid Phillies fan. She enjoyed reading, word searches, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by Daughters, Deborah J. (Landis) wife of Robert P. Flicker, Topton, Cheryl L. (Landis) wife of Michael W. Merkel, Franklin, TN; Son, E. Michael husband of Sally Jo (Adams) Landis, Easton; Sister, Mary Ellen (Barto) widow of Jerome Labanz, Allentown; Grandchildren, Brett R., Amanda B., and Nicole M. Flicker, Heidi T. Collins, Zachary M. Merkel, and Samantha A. Stiteler. There are also 8 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by 3 Sisters and 3 Brothers.

Funeral Services are Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:30 AM from Trinity Lutheran Church, Home Avenue and East Smith Street, Topton. Interment in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. Friends may call Friday, from 9:00 to 10:30 AM in the church.
