Shirley E. Weida, 70, of Greenwich Street, Kutztown, died Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in her residence. She was the wife of George E. Weida. They were married on September 15, 1956.
Born in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Mary E. (Hilbert) Wartzenluft. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kutztown, where she was the organist and bell choir director for over 30 years. She also was the organist for Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Dryville, and was a substitute organist for many churches in the East Penn Valley. She was an assistant Girl Scout Leader, Kutztown. She taught piano and organ for over 50 years.
She is survived by Husband, Daughters, Marla S. (Weida) wife of Brian D. Gieringer, Nancy E. (Weida) Eisenhower, both of Fleetwood, Kim E. (Weida) wife of Brian D. Herber, Reading; Son, Mark E. husband of Ellen A. (Kressley), Kutztown; 10 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by Daughter, Mary F. Weida on August 25, 1987.
Funeral Services are Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 201 East Main Street, Kutztown. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Monday from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.
