Shirl Haring

Shirl R. Haring, 83, of Lyon Station, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2025 in Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown, PA. He was the husband of Georgianne (Kistler) Haring, whom he married on May 22, 1965.

Born in Lyon Station, Shirl was a son of the late Harold and Esther (Musser) Haring. Shirl honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Navy.

He was employed by Stroh Brewing Company and Parish Dana Corporation. He was a member of Lyons Fire Company where he served as Trustee and was a member of the softball team. He was also a member of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion, Topton and an active volunteer with the Lyons Fiddle Festival.

Shirl was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed taking trips to Boston to watch them! He also enjoyed golfing and playing cards with his buddies at the fire company. Above all, Shirl enjoyed spending time with his family.

Along with his wife of nearly 60 years, Georgianne, Shirl is survived by his son, Brian L., husband of Lynn (Conrad) Haring, Breinigsville; two granddaughters, Paige and Cara Haring; siblings, Althea (Haring), widow of Steve Kieffer, North Carolina, and Mervin, husband of Linda Haring, Cheltenham.

In addition to his parents, Shirl was predeceased by two brothers, Gene Haring, and wife Heidi and Jay Lee Haring, and wife Peg.

A celebration of life for Shirl will be held at a later date. Burial, with military honors, will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
