Sharon Youse

Sharon K. Youse, 74, formerly of Kutztown, died peacefully, Monday, July 7, 2025, in Laureldale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Muhlenberg Township. Born in West Reading, Sharon was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Grace M. (Stufflet) Youse.

She was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1968. A talented dancer, Sharon competed in "Es Lieblichst Maedel", better known as Miss Kempton Fair.

Sharon was employed in the Culinary Arts for her career, working for M.W. Wood, as a preparatory cook at Kutztown University, Kutztown; special diets coordinator at State Correctional Facility - Graterford, Collegeville; and preparatory cook at Hill School, Pottstown, until her retirement.

Sharon enjoyed spending time her furry felines, Pilgrim and Sunny. Taking care of the many strays that found their way to her porch brough her comfort and joy.

Sharon is survived by sisters, Loretta L. (Youse), widow of Paul H. Moser, Breinigsville; Diane M. Youse, Reading; a brother, Alan J., husband Julie (Smith) Youse, Salem, Oregon. In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn M. Youse, and a brother, Larry C. Youse.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate Sharon's life will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt, officiating. Inurnment in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation from 9:30 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home.
