Sharon Solt Miller, deeply loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left us unexpectedly on the evening of July 16, 2025, at the age of 68. She passed on the front porch of the log cabin she built with her devoted husband, David “Mitch” Miller, surrounded by her gardens and flowers, with David and their dogs, Ella and Annabelle, by her side.

David and Sharon's love story began in high school, blossoming from young love into a nearly 50-year marriage that stood as a beacon of enduring affection, mutual respect, and unwavering support. They married on May 29, 1976, two years after Sharon graduated from Brandywine Heights High School in 1974, in the very church her father built, New Jerusalem Zion UCC. Sharon’s strength and grace shone brightly, especially in the past seven years as she bravely battled Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Sharon, born in Allentown on July 30, 1956, the treasured daughter of Paul L. and Violet E. (Kunkle) Solt, and a proud descendant of Pennsylvania Dutch ancestors who settled the area over three centuries ago. Her dedication to her community was boundless, evident through her lifelong involvement with New Jerusalem Zion UCC, where she served on the consistory and directed the children's choir. Sharon’s contributions extended to various PA Dutch cultural activities, including a hoedowning group that toured Germany, sharing music and dance traditions passed down through generations.

Her professional journey was diverse, reflecting her many talents. Sharon worked at several local businesses, including the former Caloric Corporation, Electro-Space Fabricators, and her father’s Solt’s Sawmill. Her personal passions seamlessly merged with her career at CONCERN, where she rose from volunteer to Secretary to the President over 15 years. Sharon also channeled her creativity and dedication to her three daughters, when she started her own successful business, Fashion by Hand, crafting and selling hand-sewn prairie jumpers. Having her own business allowed her to work from home, where she created a love-filled world for her daughters, on the sanctuary of their historic farm, surrounded by home cooked meals, baked goods, music and close family and friends.

Sharon’s interests were as varied as they were profound. She was an accomplished quilter; a skill inherited from her mother and grandmother. She found great joy in gardening and baking, and her talent for home restoration led to the successful revival of historic homes, including one of the oldest in Topton, PA. Sharon’s love for music found expression in Northern Harmony - A Shape Note Song group.

Above all, Sharon’s heart belonged to her family. She was their biggest cheerleader, always offering unwavering support and love. Her warm spirit, kindness, and the light she brought to every room will be forever cherished. Sharon’s gift for listening, empathizing, and sharing wisdom left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

In addition to being survived by her devoted husband, David, Sharon is survived by her three daughters, Emily L. (Miller) Mattole (Donovan), Sarah A. (Miller) DiCicco (Anthony), and Hannah V. (Miller) Phillips (Joseph); her brother, Kerry L. Solt; and her beloved grandchildren, Maddox, Luca, Everly, and Stone. She also leaves behind her nieces (Prudence, Melanie, Joni, Megan and Amy) and their families. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Michael P. Solt and her nephew, Christopher Hamsher.

All those who knew and loved Sharon are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial service on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at The Barn at Walnut Grove, starting at 11:00 AM. Visitation with the family will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and, again, following the service during the lite luncheon, where there will be an open mic for anyone who wants to remember Sharon. In true Sharon fashion, the memorial will be held outdoors, surrounded by flowers and gardens, so please dress comfortably in light summer attire. And arrive early as shuttles will be needed for the hilltop service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sharon's memory can be made to GBS/CIDP Foundation International, 375 East Elm Street, Suite 101, Conshohocken, PA 19428 or Friends of Brandywine, P.O. Box 85, Mertztown, PA 19539, supporting individuals affected by Guillain-Barre Syndrome and underprivileged children in the Brandywine Heights community.

As we reflect on Sharon's life, we honor her unwavering commitment to her loved ones, her passion for community, and the joy she brought to every gathering. She leaves with her family a legacy of hard work, loving fully and the ability to lead a room in prayer like no other. She believed deeply in the Lord's everlasting love and a promise of Heaven more glorious than our hearts and minds can even imagine.
