Sharon D. (Gardner) Grell, 79, of Kutztown, died unexpectedly on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Penn State Health – St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township. The love of her life, Robert E. “Bob” Grell, passed away on February 26, 2018. They were married for 50 years prior to his passing.
Born in Allentown, PA, Sharon was a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Shellhammer) Gardner. Sharon was a graduate of Emmaus High School, and later, cosmetology school. Sharon was the owner and operator of My Father’s House, a local antique store in Shimerville, PA, for several years. Most recently, Sharon could be found at Renninger’s Farmers Market in Kutztown, helping to operate her daughter’s jewelry business, Bobbi Addictive Accessories, for several years, where she loved talking with the customers. She would also assist her daughter Janeen at local craft shows and events.
Sharon loved to garden and cook. She was the best Mother to her children, had a devout faith, and was a very empathetic and caring person as well. Sharon was everyone’s Mom, and her children loved calling her the “The Grim Reaper” of electronics.
Sharon is survived by her three children, Bobbi Jean Reinert, and her husband Todd, of Fleetwood, PA, James Joseph Grell, and his wife, Jennifer, of Northampton, PA, and Janeen Grell-Miller, and her husband of Dave, of Reinholds, PA; three grandchildren, Owen Reinert, and his wife, Sydney (Montgomery), Ava Grell and Gavin Grell; her dog, Lulu; and her cats, Peanut Butter, Smokey and Shadow.
Along with her husband and parents, Sharon was predeceased by her sister, Linda (Gardner) Hartman.
As per Sharon’s wishes, there will be no formal services. A celebration of life will be held by her family at a later date.
