Scott I Williams

Scott I. Williams, age 83, 14 Bowers Road (Rockland Twp.) Mertztown, PA, died May 31, 2003, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, PA, where he was a patient since May 29, 2003. He was the Husband of Lucy P. (Shade) Williams, they were married October 25, 1947. The couple celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary this past October.

Born in Rockland Twp., Berks County, PA, he was the son of the the late Irwin Williams and the late Mayne E. (Sanders) Fox. He was employed for 30 years in the shipping department of Kutztown Publishing Company, Inc., Kutztown, retiring in 1982. He was a former Auditor of Rockland Township for many years. He also was the Treasurer of the Rockland Rod & Gun Club from 1948 to 1963. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII, having served in the North African Campaign, 1942-43, Sicilian Campaign, 1943, Normandy Invasion, 1944, and Ardennes Campaign 1944-45. He also was awarded the Bronze Star with oak leaf cluster.

He is survived by his Wife; and Son, Gary S. Williams, (Rockland Twp.) Mertztown, 2 Grandchildren, and 3 Great Grandchildren.

Memorial Services Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Private interment in Lobach's Cemetery, Oley, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Wednesday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown PA.
