Mr. Scott A. Spohn

Scott A. Spohn, 68, formerly of Lyon Station, died peacefully, Monday, June 12, 2023, in Sinking Spring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Spring Township. Born in 1955, Scott was a son of the late Donald H. and Madeline H. (Heffner) Spohn. Scott was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Chruch, Dryville. Scott was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1974.

Scott was a self-employed over-the-road truck driver for many years, then worked most recently as a dump truck driver for the H & K Group before retiring. After retirement, prior to his illness he continued to work part-time on the road crew for Maidencreek Township.

Scott was a member of the National Ski Patrol for 52 years, patrolling at Big Valley, Big Boulder/Jack Frost and Camelback ski areas. He was also a member of the Mertztown Gun Club; the Kutztown Fire Company and the Lyons Fire Company.

Scott is survived by his brother, Stuart D., husband of Diane M. (Rohrbach) Spohn, Kutztown. Other survivors include nieces and nephews: Janelle A. (Spohn), wife of Brandon Tunis, Clarks Summit; Justin M. Spohn, Philadelphia; and Jared B. Spohn, Kutztown; also great nephew and niece: Gabriel and Amelia Tunis.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Scott's life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in Hope Cemetery, 234 Church Lane, Kutztown, with The Reverend Martin A. Milne, officiating. There are no public calling or viewing times.
