Sandra M Weitzel

Sandra M. Weitzel, 71, of Topton, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in the residence of her son, Scott. Sandra was the widow of Kenneth R. Weitzel, Sr., who died January 16, 1996.

Born in Walnuttown, Richmond Township, Sandra, was a daughter of the late Harold and Elsie (Reis) LaFaver. Mrs. Weitzel was first employed as a packer at the former Wenton Shoe Company, Kutztown, then, as a presser at the former Fleetwood Shirt Corporation, Fleetwood, then, a binder operator at Precision, Leesport, and finally, as a dietary aide at Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown, until her retirement in 2006. Sandra was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Ray A. Master, Post 217, American Legion, Topton.

She is survived by Sons, Kenneth R. Weitzel, Jr., Pottsville; Randy L. Weitzel, Mertztown, and Scott A. fiancé of Suzanne M. (Strong) Hasty, Kutztown. Other survivors include Sister, Donna L. (LaFaver) wife of Randy Frey, Topton; Karen B. LaFaver, Fleetwood; Brothers, Richard G. husband of Janice (Lutz) LaFaver and Dennis R. husband of Wanda (Smith) LaFaver, both of Fleetwood. There are 7 Grandchildren, Keirrie N. Fichter, Ryon L. Weitzel, Kurt R. Kinney, Zachary S. Weitzel, Jonathan R. Hasty, Joseph B. Hasty, James W. Hasty and Great Grandchildren, Julian J. and Xavior D. Tua. Sandra was predeceased by Sisters, Shirley A. (LaFaver) Young and Patricia M. LaFaver.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Reverend David Newhart, officiating. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
