Samuel G. "Sam" Hamm, Jr.

Samuel G. Hamm, Jr., 75, of Douglassville, formerly of Kutztown, died peacefully, Friday, July 4, 2025, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Sam was the loving husband of Cindy L. (Gift) Hamm, whom he married on August 6, 1977, at Zion's Church of Perry Township, where he was a member.

Born in Allentown, Sam was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School, Class of 1968, and he received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Bloomsburg University.

He first worked at Caloric Corporation at its former Topton plant, then as a welder at Kutztown Foundry, Kutztown, and finally, as a grid caster at East Penn Manufacturing Company, Lyon Station, until his retirement.

Sam was a 25 year member of Huguenot Lodge #377, F.&A.M. Kutztown, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. His hobbies included woodworking, collecting baseball and football cards, and trains. In addition, Sam especially enjoyed socializing; having the 'gift-of-gab' enabled him to easily start a conversation with anyone he met.

In addition to his wife of nearly 48 years, Cindy, and his loving pug, Penelope, Sam is survived by twin sons: David A., husband of Beverly K. (Snyder) Hamm, Sinking Spring, and their children: Noah D. Hamm and Naomi G. Hamm and predeceased grandchildren Faith, Hope and Aaron Hamm; and The Rev. Darryl A., husband of Jennetta R. (Billman) Hamm, Oak Harbor, OH, and their children: Hannah A. Hamm, Isaac T. Hamm and Abbigail R. Hamm

A funeral service to celebrate and honor Sam's life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. from Ludwick Funeral Homes and Cremation Care, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with Samuel's son, The Reverend Darryl A. Hamm, officiating. Interment in Zion's Cemetery of Perry Township. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. Masonic Services will begin at 2:15 p.m.

The family requests contributions be considered in Samuel's memory to Huguenot Lodge Scholarship Fund, 18 Crystal Cave Road, Kutztown, PA 19530.
