Mr. Salvatore J. Tuccio

Salvatore J. Tuccio, 79, of Albany Township, formerly of Greenwich Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of Joan A. (Alden) Tuccio whom he married on September 18, 1965.

Born in Middletown, CT, Sal was a son of the late Salvatore S. and Viola Marie (Lanteri) Tuccio. He was a member of Kempton New Church, Kempton, where he was a member of the Board of Trustees, and honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Sal was employed as a Test Operator working for Pratt & Whitney, East Hartford, CT for 17 years, where he worked on the J58 engine which propelled the Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" military aircraft. Later, Sal worked as a Training Professional at SkillPath and CareerTrack for many years and finally as a Drug and Alcohol Counsellor for Diakon Services, until his retirement in 2008.

Sal was a member of the National Association of Healthcare Quality Assurance, a volunteer for the American Heart Association's Zipper Club through St. Luke's Hospital, and served as a Scout Master while living in Connecticut. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and playing golf.

Salvatore is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan; daughters, Rachel M. Tuccio, Pottstown, Lisa J. Tuccio, Wilmington, DE, Jessica A. Tuccio, Pottstown, and son, Matthew A. Tuccio, Berlin, Germany; six grandchildren, Melissa, Chris, Anthony, Devon, Chiarra and Ian; and two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Alex.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Cormier Tuccio and two brothers, Albert and Frank Tuccio.

A Resurrection Service for Salvatore will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from Kempton New Church, 583 Hawk Mountain Road, Kempton, PA.

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Sal's memory to St. Luke's University Health Network, Attn: Development Office, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA  18015.
