Salome E. (Boyer) Adam, 91, of Topton, formerly of Lyon Station, died Monday, December 7, 2015 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of George W. Adam who died August 10, 1997.
Born in Dryville, she was a daughter of the late Salome E. Geisinger, who died during childbirth, and was raised by her grandparents, Oscar W. and Lizzie E. Geisinger. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Bowers where she served on the Women of Hope committee. Mrs. Adam was a self-employed house keeper for 25 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Lyons Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Salome loved baking, cooking and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by Daughters, Barbara A. (Adam), wife of Ronald Masters, Allentown and Shirley L. (Adam), wife of Frank S. Walters, Kutztown; Sons, George A., husband of Carolyn (Phillips) Adam, Whitehall and Richard W., husband of Debra (Schaeffer) Adam, Denver. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren, Angela S. Guistwite, Cory L. Frederick, Pamela A. Adam, Christopher R. Adam, Lindsey M. Adam and Adam M. Phillips; and 6 Great Grandchildren, Rodney J. Frederick, Austyn A. Frederick, Brady W. Guistwite, Lillian F. Adam-Simen, Berkley W. Adam and Bradley J. Phillips. Salome was predeceased by a Grandson, Timothy L. Tothero.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10:30 AM from Hope Lutheran Church, 550 Fleetwood Road, Bowers, with Reverend Elizabeth A. Haines officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions be made in memory of Salome to Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 88, Bowers, PA 19511. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
