Ruth S Romig

Ruth S. (Conrad) Romig, 94, of Lewisburg, formerly of Topton, died Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at RiverWoods Senior Living Community, Lewisburg. She was the widow of Carl H. Romig who died December 29, 1988.

Born in Rockland Township, she was the daughter of the late Jonathan H. and Gertie F. (Hertzog) Conrad. Mrs. Romig was a member of Longswamp United Church of Christ, Mertztown. She was a graduate of Kutztown Area High School. Mrs. Romig was employed as a presser and floor worker by the former Marcus Manufacturing, Topton, for 21 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Topton; and the former Topton Women's Club. Ruth loved her family, and her family dearly loved her.

She is survived by Son, Reverend Michael C., husband of Ruth (Wertz) Romig, Mifflinburg, PA; Grandchildren, Joanna E. (Romig), wife of Fletcher Robinson, Oakville Ontario, Canada, and Bethany S. Romig, Watertown, Mass.; Great Granddaughter, Raelynne; and Great Grandson, Decklan. Ruth was predeceased by a Sister-in-law, Jean B. (Romig) Rhode in 2014, and a Brother-in- law, GlenRoy W. Rhode in 1992 .

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Dr. Katherine E. Brearley officiating. Interment will follow in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Rockland Township.  Relatives and friends may call Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to Longswamp United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 200 Clay Road, Mertztown, PA  19539. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
