She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Paris of Kutztown, PA (with whom she lived from February 20, 2019 to April 21, 2026); a grandson, Joseph R. Glazier of Ocean View, NJ; and a stepdaughter, Carol Snyder of Louisvile, OH. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Also preceding her in death were three sisters: Josephine Long; Sarah Cassidy; and Lena Jervis; and her brother: Lewis Grigsby; as well as four stepsisters, a stepbrother, a stepdaughter: Kay Wasara; and a son-in-law, Jim Paris, who passed away on August 8, 2025.
Ruth was a 1947 graduate of Carrollton High School. After school, she worked in retail until her daughter was born and eventually went back to work in retail for approximately 15 years. She started losing her vision in 1978 and by 1980, she had to quit work. In 2017, her vision worsened to only being able to see slight shadows. Prior to losing her vision, she loved spending the winter months in Florida with her second husband, loved reading, puzzles, and watching good movies on TV. Her daughter describes her as the strongest woman she's ever known.
While living in Ohio, she was a member of the Carrollton Baptist Temple, Carrollton, OH.
