Ruth E Strauss

Ruth E. Strauss, 85, of Rockland Township, died Saturday, December 25, 2010 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late John W. Strauss.

Born in Rockland Township, she was a daughter of the late Wayne and Edna (Youse) Sanders. She was a member of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood, where she was a member of the flower committee for over 20 years, special projects committee, and had perfect attendance for over 25 years. Ruth was employed as a custodian for East Penn Manufacturing for over 10 years until her retirement; prior to that she was a gluer at the former Wenton Shoe Co., Kutztown, for over 10 years.

She is survived by Daughter, Kathleen E. (Strauss) wife of Scott B. Showalter, Womelsdorf; Son-In-Law, Daniel Wessner, Kutztown; Twin Brother, Paul husband of Gloria Sanders, Blandon; Brother, Scott husband of Regina Sanders, Oley. She is also survived by Granddaughters, Katie M. Showalter and Aimee K. Showalter. She was predeceased by Daughter, Karen J. (Strauss) Wessner.

Funeral Services are Thursday, December 30, 2010, at 10:30 AM from Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood. Interment in Hope Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
