Ruth E Sanders

Ruth E. Sanders, 74, of Kutztown, formerly of Bowers, died Sunday, May 13, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late Frank D. and Rose A. (Edinger) Merkel. Mrs. Sanders was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. She worked as a nurses aide for 13 years at the former Reading Nursing Center, and five years at the Highlands of Wyomissing, retiring in 1994. She was presently a homemaker. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by Daughters, Rosemary D. (Sanders) wife of Keith M. Hilbert, and Elizabeth R. (Sanders) wife of Roy A. Wessner, both of Kutztown, Christy M. (Sanders) wife of Todd G. Benjamin, Lenhartsville; Sons, Kenneth S. husband of Anne R. (Fegley) Sanders, Fleetwood, Allan J. husband of Patricia (Mayernik) Sanders, Kempton, David W. husband of Shannon A. (Gore) Sanders, and Doug A Sanders, both of Kutztown; Sister, Marion M. (Merkel) Reynard, Indiana. She is also survived by 16 Grandchildren.

Memorial Services are Friday, May 18, 2012, 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.

The family requests contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 40 Berkshire Court, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
