Ruth E Hoffman

Ruth E. Hoffman, 86, of Kutztown, died Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Kutztown Manor Nursing Home, Kutztown. She was the wife of Norman F. Hoffman. They were married February 2, 1946.

Born in Kutztown, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Florence B. (Merkel) Meitzler. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown. She was a sewing machine operator over 15 years at the former Deisher Knitting Mill, Kutztown. She then was co-owner of Little People Daycare School, Whitehall, from 1980 until her retirement in 1987. She was a graduate of the former Allentown Business School, Allentown.

She is survived by Husband; Daughters, Carol L. (Hoffman) wife of George L. DeLong, Kutztown, Faye E. (Hoffman) wife of Douglas J. Miller, Fleetwood, Son, Randall N. husband of Susan J. (Lacey) Hoffman, Schnecksville. Also surviving are 7 Grandchildren, Tad E. Gehringer, Tosha S. Dahms, Bradley J. Hoffman, Benjamin A. Hoffman, Bryan M. DeLong, Emily C. Bleasdale, Geoffrey R. Hoffman and five great grandchildren Zachary P. Dahms, Kaitlynn M. Dahms, Gabrielle E. Dahms, Garrett D. Gehringer and Logan G. Bleasdale. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Margo Ann (Hoffman) late wife of Burt J. Schwalm, Breinigsville, on October 28, 2007, and a Brother, Stanley G. Meitzler on October 29, 1997.

Funeral Services are Thursday, December 10, 2009 at 10:30 AM from Saint Paul’s U.C.C., 51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Greenwich Township. Friends may call Thursday, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of Saint Paul U.C.C. Church 51 S. Whiteoak St., Kutztown, PA 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
