Mrs. Ruth A. Sosnowski

Ruth A. (Miller) Sosnowski, 94, of Allentown, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the widow of Walter Sosnowski.

Born in Treichlers, Northampton County, she was a daughter of the late Willie F. and Anna E. (Getz) Miller. Ruth was a member of Saint Luke's Lutheran Church, Allentown, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a Food Bank Volunteer for many years. She also was a tutor for Saint Luke's after-school program. Ruth was employed as a secretary at WHOL Radio, Allentown, and as a customer service representative for Sears, Whitehall.

Following her son William's accident in 1987, Ruth devoted her efforts to assisting in William's continued care. She even attended Reading Area Community College, auditing each class William enrolled in. Ruth was President of Washington School (Allentown) Parent Teacher's Association for over five years during the late 1960's. Ruth enjoyed spending time babysitting her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters, Helene Weigle Ruth, wife of Willis W. Ruth, Lenhartsville, and Pamela C., wife of Timothy S. Salgado, Allentown; five grandchildren, Nathan A., husband of Kelly (Savacool) Bachman, David G. Weigle, companion of Jaime Fluck; Heather M. (Barr) Scherer, fiance of Robert Morris; Michael S. Salgado, and Douglas A., husband of Mary Jane (Guantero) Salgado; and six great-grandchildren, Joshua Scherer, Braeden Scherer, Autumn Morris, Ryan Bachman, Lindsey Bachman and great granddaughter Salgado, expected in April.

In addition to her husband, Walter and parents, Ruth was predeceased by a son, William E. Weigle, and two brothers, Wesley and LeRoy Miller.

A memorial service to celebrate Ruth's life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Road, Kutztown, PA, with Vicar Jeremiah T. Heydt, officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Inurnment will take place in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Krumsville.
