Russell R Webb

Russell R. Webb, 66, of Kohler Road, Bowers (Maxatawny Twp.), died Thursday, November 25, 2004, in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, shortly after admission. He was the husband of Bessie L. (Blatt) Webb, they were married November 21, 1964.

Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Alfred Webb and the late Lillian Naftzinger. He was employed as a mechanic at the former Paul F. Held, Inc., Chrysler Plymouth Dealership, Kutztown, for 17 years. He then worked as the Service Department manager for 19 years at the former Paul F. Held, Inc. until his retirement in 1993. He, along with his wife owned and operated the former Bessie’s Home Cookin’, now Jak’s Diner, Topton for 13 years until November, 2002. He was a member of the Bowers Lions Club, Grundsow Lodge, Kutztown. He was a peacetime veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He was a member of Christ (Mertrz) Lutheran Church, Fleetwood (Rockland Twp.).

He is survived by Wife, Son, Jamey R. husband of Traci A. (Hollenbach) Webb, Fleetwood; Step Daughter, Sarah Jayne (Symons) wife of David P. Romig, Kutztown; 2 Grandchildren, 2 Step Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at 2:00 PM from Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood (Dryville, Rockland Twp.) Interment with Military Honors in Hope Cemetery, Fleetwood (Rockland Twp.). Friends may call Tuesday, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Christ (Mertz) Lutheran Church, 16 Fleetwood Road, Fleetwood, 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
