Roy D. Adams, 84, of Long Lane Road, Greenwich Twp., Lenhartsville, PA, formerly of Lyon Station, died Friday, September 10, 2004, in his residence. He was married to the late Catherine M. (Schlegel) Adams who died February 27, 1980.
Born in Topton, PA, he was the son of the late Robert G. and the late Eula A. (Knauss) Adams. He was employed from 1946 until his retirement in 1996 as a foreman in the cutting room of the former Kutztown Shoe Company, Kutztown. From 1952 until 1997 he owned and operated Adams Nursery and Christmas Tree Farm, Lyon Station. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
He is survived by Companion, Mabel K. (Kline) Snyder with whom he resided; Sons, Jay D. Adams, Village of Bowers, Maxatawny Twp., Jerryl R. Adams, Apex, North Carolina, Joll E. Adams, Fleetwood (Ruscombmanor Twp.), Jon W. Adams, Lyon Station (Maxatawny Twp.), Jan P. Adams, Mertztown (Rockland Twp.); Daughter, Jean A. (Adams) Winkler, Kutztown (Maxatawny Twp.); 20 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with Military Honors in Hope Cemetery, Dryville (Rockland Twp.). Friends may call Tuesday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
