Rosa C E Conrad

Rosa C. E. Conrad, 84, of Kutztown, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 in The Lutheran Home at Topton, where she was a patient since May 22, 2009. She was the wife of Ernest G. Conrad. They were married February 14, 1943.

Born in Longswamp Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Roland C. J. and Blanche (Pauley) Reifinger. She was a member of Longswamp United Church of Christ, Mertztown, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, choir member, Church Women’s Group and headed the taped ministry program where she took recorded worships to church shut-ins. During the 1950’s she worked as a sewing machine operator at Sportswear Manufacturing, Kutztown; and during the 1980’s she worked as a cook at Chez Nous at Kutztown University.

She is survived by Daughter, Eileen D. Conrad, Kenilworth, NJ; Son, Dennis R. husband of Kara V. (Symons) Conrad, Suffolk, VA. There is also a Grandson, Kevin S. Adams, Blandon; 3 Great Grandchildren, Ashlyn P, Sheila B., and Kevin S., Jr. Adams. There is also a Sister, Margaret (Reifinger) wife of Wayne Rauenzahn, Whitehall; Brother, Rowland Reifinger, Grand Rapids, Mich. She was predeceased by a Daughter, Sheila B. (Conrad) Adams who died on January 15, 2004.

Funeral Services are Thursday, May 28, 2009, 10:30 AM at Longswamp U.C.C. Church, 200 Clay Road, Mertztown. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.
