Ronald G Smith

Ronald G. Smith, 75, of Gilbertsville, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Arlene "Dolly" M. (Barto) Smith, whom he married March 3, 1956.

Born in Greenwich Township, Berks County, he was the son of Catherine (Grim) Smith Schlenker, Long Island, New York, and the late Charles W. Smith. Mr. Smith was a 1956 graduate of William Allen High School, Allentown. He was employed as a glazier by Hutts Glass Company, Inc., Gilbertsville, for 41 years, retiring in 2005. Prior to that, he worked at Penn Allen Glass Company, Inc., Allentown, for eight years. Mr. Smith was a member of the Glaziers Local Union #252, Gilbertsville Fire Company, Reading Dancers, and Country and Western Dancers of West Reading. He enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, hunting and woodworking.

He is survived by Wife; Daughter, Tina M. Smith, wife of Ynze Bijl, San Francisco, CA; Sons, Ricky L., husband of Elaine M. (Rhoads) Smith, Gilbertsville, and David W. Smith, husband of Nancy A. Pietroski, Telford; Sister, Karen (Schlenker) Shaw, Great River, NY; Grandchildren, Teo Byl, Zoe Byl, Jason Smith, and Kelly Smith; and 2 Great Grandchildren, Nathaniel and Xavier Smith.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 9, 2013 at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, 19530. Interment will follow in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Relatives and friends may call Thursday evening, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
